Posted by ksmm101 on October 17, 2012
From my experience I have noticed people might share their methods but never their niche. It is truly one of the biggest kept secrets when it comes to making money online. Here I will go through some steps and share some insight on how to find a niche. I’m also going to share my niche list which contains a list of 100+ niches. I suggest that you use it as a guide.
How to Find A Niche
By looking at my niche list, select a few that you might be interested in. For example lets say you like hiking.
You will want to build your entire business around that niche! All the articles you write, all the videos you make, All the files you upload to Sharecash, all the affiliate sites you join have to be related to that niche. In this case, hiking.
You would want to break down hiking into micro-niches or niche markets so that way you have different articles and content but at the same time its related to hiking. Look at the image on the left, you can write 3 different articles based on the chart, headaches from neck pains, neck pain spasms, and neck pain remedies. Let me give you another example.
Whats related to hiking? Lets see..
Sleeping bags, tents, RV’s, marshmallows, camp fires just to name a few. Also where can you go hiking? The mountains, you can go further in depth and say Rocky Mountains, or Appalachian Mountains. (Hiking was just something that came to mind, I don’t know anything about the subject).
After you write down all the things that are related to hiking you can start conducting some keyword research. I wont really get into how to conduct this instead I will provide you with a link to an article on how to do this. Key in mind to search things related to your niche aka hiking in this case and see what keywords have the lowest competition. Here is a link to a article that goes further in depth of keyword research.
Remember when I said you should pick a niche that interests you? Well if you where to pick hiking and you are interested in the subject chances are that you are knowledgeable about it as well. You might even have a few pictures or videos, know some of the best hiking spots, and the best weather to hike in. All of this can be broken down into micro niches, like “best hiking spots” for example. If the competition is low, you can dedicate a entire article on naming a few good hiking spots.
Are you starting to get the idea? Basically all you are doing is breaking down your interest into micro niches. Make sure that you narrow down your interests as much as possible so that way not only will you have more to talk about its also good for search engines.
In order to make money online it starts with research and preparation before deciding to join anything. Once you have found your niche and have several keywords written down that contain low competition see if you can write some articles about them.
Once you are prepared you may go to step one “Sites to Join” of my Money Making Guide and go on from there. If you follow the advice given on this blog you should stat to acquire several streams of income in a matter of months.
